What is "Scratch Cooking?"
Image:

“Scratch Cooking” as defined in Scratch Cooking 2 is a hands-on approach to the way we prepare our daily meals.  Cooking from scratch is a style that derives from home made foods using fresh ingredients that capture the original flavors of the recipe contents.

In doing so, we should avoid pre-cooked and or pre-packaged products that include unhealthy limits of additives & preservatives.  This way, we are simply incorporating a home-style method of cooking that will surely make for a healthier lifestyle.

Try this Benita McCoy-Lyons surprise.

For a quick & easy salad dressing the next time company arrives unexpectly, take some strawberry preserves and mix with a bit of poppy seed dressing, olive oil, a few spoonfuls of heavy cream, and a packet of sugar substitute.  Stir together and pour over fresh salad greens & toasted pine nuts.  You talk about a treat?  Yummy.  It's fresh, tasty and your guests will know just how very clever you are in the kitchen.
