| From the Real McCoy, Benita McCoy-Lyons, welcome to Kentucky Scratch Cooking. |
As a direct descendant of the infamous Hatfield-McCoy Feud, I know a thing or two about the McCoys. In fact, my great-great Grandfather was the first person killed in the feud; and his son shot the last shot with a Winchester rifle. I now have the lever action 1800’s gun from the Smithsonian Institute Archives; which was handed down to me through my ancestors.
Another gift handed down from one generation of McCoys to another is our love for good old-fashioned cooking. "Scratch Cooking," that is.
Scratch Cooking 2 contains many secret recipes of my ancestors and their friends. Recipes like biscuits & gravy, fried apple pies, Aunt Loretta's corn pudding, and good old shuckie beans.
Check back soon to discover on-line recipes and lots of fascinating tales of the famous fued that went on for nearly twenty-five years. For your convenience, you can order Scratch Cooking 2 online, by phone or by e-mail.
Best Regards, Benita McCoy Lyons
